The surrounding lagoon is a big bonus in summer days. The heated pool is long but a bit narrow, so doesn't accommodate two swimmers unless the try to avoid each other. Room very clean and big. Kitchen has all it's needed.

The staff were very friendly and our apartment was great. I'd asked for dinner recommendations in advance as this trip was for my birthday. When we checked in, I was told that we'd been upgraded from a studio room, and we also received a bottle of wine to celebrate, which was such a sweet surprise! I didn't want to have to drive while on vacation, so we took the Port Stephens coach from Sydney, which dropped us off right across from the resort and then picked us up for our return home, making it all super convenient. The 130 bus was great at getting us around to Nelson Bay marina for a whale watching cruise, and to Shoal Bay for the Tomaree Headland walk. Also, just being so close to Salamander Bay Square meant that we could walk there and back to get groceries for our stay, and do a bit of shopping too.

The one bedroom apartment was perfect, the swim out pool was just amazing so convenient and the pool was crystal clear. I saw the hard working staff daily keep the pool and hot tubs clean. Loved the tennis courts and steam room, and lap pool. I simply cannot fault our stay. The cocktails and mocktails were great at happy hour, they were delicious.

The pool was amazing! Each room has pretty good sound proof so we couldn’t hear when others were playing in it. Bed was so comfortable. Location of the resort was sensational. It’s so close to the mall. So we had easy access to Coles and Aldi during our stay. The pool was breathtaking!!!! We were there to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday, and boy he will definitely remember this for the rest of his life!

Pool was fantastic, wraps around the whole resort, you can walk the whole way round in the pool. Pool is the same depth all the way around about 1.1 m deep but there are shallow areas off to the side for small children to play Our room was a swim up so you could swim straight off your deck into the water,.pool is not heated .

We really enjoyed the stay in the resort. This is my second time staying here. We could stay in the resort all day without going out. The pool is exceptional. Easy access to the pool via balcony for swim out room. Especially for family with young kids, this is definitely the best hotel to go to. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely the hotel I will come over and over again.

Our family recently stayed at Oaks Port Stephens for two days, and it was truly an amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We originally booked a room with a plunge pool, but due to a last-minute cancellation, the team graciously upgraded us to a swim-out room at no extra cost. This thoughtful gesture made our trip even more memorable, especially for our kids, who absolutely loved spending hours in the pool. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and conveniently located, making it a seamless experience for us to enjoy the pool and relax as a family. The property itself is stunning, offering a tranquil and luxurious atmosphere. A huge thank you to the team at Oaks Port Stephens for making our stay so special. The door to the apartment kept sticking and was very hard to open. I reported it every day, but nothing was done. It is very concerning as it is a fire door. Room 199B The room was well appointed. Very clean and comfortable

the Place was everything we expected and the staff were friendly . We stayed in a 2 bedroom lagoon apartment . The unit was very clean we would recommend the place as we enjoyed our stay swimming ECT

I like a swim and enjoyed the pool which happens to be one of the longest of any hotel - I estimated around 450 metres - and forms a continuous loop around the resort. Safe depth for family fun and wading. There are a couple of heated spa pools along the way too. Conveniently positioned about 30 mins drive to either Nelson Bay / Shoal Bay, or north to Corlette.
